The Eagles took a 1-0 lead against Bethany early in the first half off a goal by Audra Badskey assisted by Emily Gray. They maintained that lead until late in the half when the ECA’s Senior Goal Keeper, Peyton Badskey made a save but then got tangled up with a Bethany player and had to come out of the game with an apparent head injury.
The 4 year starter and one of the team captains had blanked Bethany to that point, so it was not surprising that Bethany would look to put pressure on her in other ways, just as they have in years past. With Peyton on the sidelines, the Eagles put Freshman midfielder Jordyn Becker in goal. Though she fought valiantly she was unable to continue the shutout and Bethany got on the board shortly thereafter.
Peyton did return to the field in the second half for a short stint, but was unable to finish the contest. By the end of the game, Bethany had netted 6.
Center Backs, Kylie Vida and Abbie Suiter came out of the game in the second half due to injury. They are not expected to miss any further playing time.
