Elkhart Christian Academy watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 15-4 loss to LaVille on Tuesday. LaVille scored on a single by Leyton Czarnecki, a single by Jayden Laurence, and a single by Ayden Doyle in the first inning.
LaVille got things started in the first inning. Czarnecki singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Elkhart Christian Academy Eagles Varsity tallied four runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught by Elkhart Christian Academy Eagles Varsity was led by Gabe Kahl, LJ Bevier, and Austin Snyder, all driving in runs in the frame.
LaVille scored five runs in the top of the fifth inning. LaVille’s big inning was driven by walks by Lucas Plummer and Brady Anderson, singles by James Pierce and Andrew Dill, and a double by Trenton Woods.
Plummer led the LaVille to victory on the hill. He surrendered four runs on three hits over one inning, striking out two and walking zero. Czarnecki threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Preston Stutzman took the loss for Elkhart Christian Academy Eagles Varsity. Stutzman lasted four innings, allowing ten hits and ten runs while striking out two.
Dill started the game for LaVille. The hurler lasted three innings, allowing four hits and zero runs while striking out four and walking one
Bevier led Elkhart Christian with two hits in three at bats.
LaVille racked up 14 hits in the game. Czarnecki, Doyle, Plummer, and Dill each racked up multiple hits for LaVille. Czarnecki went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead LaVille in hits. LaVille stole six bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Czarnecki led the way with two.
