Elkhart Christian Academy couldn’t come back in a 13-7 loss to Mishawaka’s C-Team on Friday. Mishawaka scored on a groundout by M Huffman in the first inning, a stolen base by B Freitag in the first inning, a walk by A Cannon in the first inning, a walk by E Scott in the first inning, and a double by J Cohen in the second inning.

Despite the loss, Elkhart Christian did collect six hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Mishawaka had eight hits on the way to victory.

In the bottom of the first inning, Elkhart Christian tied things up at four when Austin Snyder singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.

Mishawaka pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning. In the second Cohen doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Huffman pitched Mishawaka to victory. He lasted five innings, allowing four hits and five runs while striking out five. D Smith threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

LJ Bevier took the loss for the Eagles. The pitcher went one inning, allowing four runs on one hit.

Luke Schramm went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Elkhart Christian in hits.

Mishawaka scattered eight hits in the game. T DeBroka and Cohen all managed multiple hits for Mishawaka. Mishawaka tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Cohen led the way with three.

The Eagles fall to 0-4 for the 2021 campaign and host Oregon-Davis on Monday.
