Elkhart Christian Academy of Elkhart, IN is pleased to announce that Peyton Badskey has signed to continue her soccer career at NCAA Division 1, University of North Alabama. Peyton is the daughter of Joel and Jessica Badskey.
Sophomore Year: All-Conference 2nd team; ECA’s Team Player Award
Junior Year: Captain, All-Conference 2nd team
Senior Year: Captain, ECA’s Most Valuable Player, All-Conference 1st Team, ICGSA Academic All-State and ISCA Academic All-State
Peyton has also played for the Fort Wayne United FC for the last 4 years.
In addition to her athletic accomplishments, Peyton has earned Academic High Honor Roll all 4 years of high school. She is a 3 year member of the National Honor Society, a member of the IASP Rising Stars of Indiana, member of ECA’s SLA for 2 years where she served 1 of those years as the Vice President. Peyton has been a small group leader at ECA for 2 years, earned the Distinguished Christian Athlete Award for Outstanding Achievement in Academics and Leadership in 2018. She has also served as an elementary soccer camp coach and a volunteer in the 3-4 year old children’s ministry at her church.
Joel Badskey, ECA Soccer Coach says, “Watching your journey over the last four years has been truly exciting. You are definitely one of the most competitive athletes I have ever coached. You are fiercely loyal to your team to the point I am confident you would go to battle for each and every one of them. You are driven. No one works harder than you or sacrifices more to be the best they can be. You are passionate. You truly love the game and want everyone to see it the way you do so they can experience that same joy. You take all those things and package them perfectly to become an incredible teammate, leader and player. I cannot wait to see what plans God has for you!”
Richelle Viront, ECA Athletic Director, adds, “This signing marks a first for Elkhart Christian female athletes. Peyton is our first D1 signee. We are so proud of her and all the hard work that she has put in to reach this point in her career. But even more importantly, we are proud of her sweet spirit and the evident love she has for her Savior. I am confident that Peyton will make an immediate impact at UNA not only on the soccer field, but in the hearts of all those around her.”
